Manuscripts for Albuquerque

For his novel, Alburquerque, Rudolfo Anaya produced multiple initial drafts, 5 of which are available here. The Rudolfo Anaya Papers collection also contains correspondence from Andrea Otañez at UNM Press, a UNM Press typescript (not provided online), and various handwritten notes by the author. The original manuscript documents are in the collections of the Center for Southwest Research at the University of New Mexico Libraries. In addition to the comments and marked manuscript pages, Otañez’s notes and letters trace the progression of the manuscript in its final phases of development, until its publication in summer 1992.
