Bless Me, Ultima

The Albuquerque Public Library will be hosting a screening of Bless Me, Ultima, a 2013 production of Rudolfo Anaya’s famous novel. The screening if free and open to the public, and will take place Saturday, April 7, 2:00pm - 4:00pm, at the Special Collections Library, located at 423 Central Ave NE. The film Bless Me, Ultima is a drama set in rural New Mexico during WWII. This is the story of a unique relationship an inquisitive boy develops with an elderly medicine woman who shows him how to him connect with his spiritual roots. Ultima, the curandera, helps Antonio to understand the many contradictions in his life, and contend with the battle between good and evil that rages in his village. (This film is rated PG-13 for some violence and sexual references.) All are invited to explore New Mexico history and culture with the library’s Special Collections events.
