The University of New Mexico Libraries announces the Rudolfo Anaya Digital Archive! This project is dedicated to developing a comprehensive information resource about the life and work of author Rudolfo Anaya. We are currently in the process of scanning a large collection of Anaya’s manuscripts and papers, which will become available on the website in the coming months. These archives will offer a major Digital Humanities research tool to aid students and faculty in studying Chicano literature. This site showcases the life and work of award-winning author, Rudolfo Anaya. Currently under development at the University of New Mexico, RADA will provide digital access to Anaya's manuscripts and papers and a complete bibliography of his published works. It will also bring together critical, information and multimedia resources about Anaya and provide an online introduction to Chicano Literature.
The National Endowment for the Humanities has announced Rudolfo Anaya as one of twelve distinguished recipients of the 2015 National Humanities Medal. On September 22, 2016, President Barack Obama will present the awards in a formal ceremony at the White House. According to the NEH press release, Anaya was chosen “For his pioneering stories of the American southwest. His works of fiction and poetry celebrate the Chicano experience and reveal universal truths about the human condition—and as an educator, he has spread a love of literature to new generations.”
